It all began with a single voice—MAHI, a long-time volunteer and a three-time Executive Committee member—who expressed his aspiration to serve on the Office Bearer team of Connecticut Tamil Sangam (CTTS) for 2026. Through this journey, he experienced firsthand how entrenched administrative practices discouraged fresh energy, new ideas, and aspiring volunteers, prioritizing position and reputation over participation and progress.
Although Team Mahi did not win the 2026 CTTS elections, they achieved something far more enduring: they won hearts. They resonated with members who longed for change, fairness, and broader participation in shaping the future of CTTS.
That defining moment led to an important transformation. mahiforCTTS, which began as a campaign for an individual, evolved into myCTTU—a movement driven by shared values and a common purpose.
The journey of myCTTU was not just an election campaign—it was a collective awakening. These individuals stood together through the entire 2026 CTTS election journey, demonstrated resilience in the face of challenges, and emerged stronger even after the results. What began as a campaign transformed into a shared purpose—to build a stronger, more connected, and more inclusive CTTS that truly serves every Tamil family with integrity, pride, and accountability. They are the pillars who refused to step back, chose to step forward, and remain deeply committed to shaping a better future for our community.
Together, they continue to stand as a united force—listening, engaging, and working relentlessly to ensure myCTTU remains a movement driven by community voices, collective leadership, and transparent action.
